A delicate weave of instrumental music, song and storytelling, this new work from Renaissance music group The Galloway Consort draws inspiration from the Royal Hunt of the Unicorn tapestries in Stirling Castle. Tapestry, like music, was seen as the height of artistic expression in 16th-century Europe, especially in the Low Countries. This performance explores the makers and buyers of some of the extraordinary works created, finding both hope and darkness in the tale of the unicorn and the maiden.
