Don Paterson in conversation with Lucy Burnett

Wigtown Parish Church
In person & Online event
Fri 1 Oct
18:00 UK
£0.00 to £5.00

For this live audience event, some contributors, including Lucy Burnett will be in the venue with others, such as Don Paterson joining by video link. The event will also be simultaneously streamed on our website. Online access is free but please pay what you can. Booking for online events is optional, but by reserving an online ticket you will receive a reminder beforehand.

Don Paterson's latest poetry collection, Zonal, is an experiment in science-fictional and fantastic autobiography, with all of its poems taking their imaginative cue from the first season of The Twilight Zone (1959-1960), playing fast and loose with both their source material and the author's own life. The narrative style is a departure for Paterson, and this evening's event will feature the poet in conversation with new StAnza Director Lucy Burnett, exploring the possibilities and pitfalls of narrative poetry, in a special preview event for StAnza 2022, incorporating discussion, poetry and music. StAnza's 25th anniversary festival will have the title Stories like Starting Points -- and the conversation starts here!
