Investigating the feasibility of re-establishing a post office in Wigtown

We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we investigate the feasibility of re-establishing a post office in Wigtown.
Over recent months, we have been working with the Post Office as well as taking detailed legal and financial advice. Unfortunately, we have been advised by our lawyers that operating a post office does not fall satisfactorily within our charitable purposes.
However, there may still be a way forward by creating a separate trading company to manage the post office. This is a complex process and we are currently exploring what viable options there might be.
We appreciate that this has meant a delay in reaching a final decision on this and sincerely apologise for any frustration or inconvenience this may have caused.
