Adverse Weather Warning

Due to the adverse weather forecast, Wigtown Book Festival events taking place in temporary structures on Friday 30 September between 9am-3pm have been moved to ensure public safety.

This affects the following events:

  • 9.30am The Explorer's Chair - now in The Print Room
  • 10.30am The Whithorn Trust Event - now in the Parish Church
  • 10.30am Stuart Kelly - now in the County Buildings
  • 1.30pm Ali Miller - now in the Parish Church
  • The Kist will be closed until 3pm but will open 3pm-6.30pm, weather permitting.
  • The Gardens will be closed until 3pm with the exception of Deception Island. Audiences can only access Deception Island through the entrance on South Main Street, opposite ReadingLasses.
  • Festival As Form will be located on the ground floor of the County Buildings beside the Information Point.
