Wigtown Festival Company Box Office Supervisor Job Advert

Duration: 10 weeks (1 August - 9 October 2025)
Hours per week: 62 days (428 hours) over 10 weeks.
Pay: £5,393

Wigtown Festival Company is seeking a hardworking and dedicated individual to supervise the Wigtown Book Festival box office from 1 August - 9 October 2025.
This is a predominantly customer-facing role. The successful candidate will supervise all aspects of the festival box office full time from 1 August - 9 October. This will include working Monday-Saturday and all 10 days of Wigtown Book Festival (26 September - 5 October (a job share may be considered). They will be responsible for working closely with festival staff and volunteers to take and process customer bookings in a professional manner and record these accurately through the company’s box office system. They will supply a weekly report on sales at staff meetings and be responsible for communication with customers in the lead up to and during Wigtown Book Festival to ensure any changes are advised and pre-event reminders sent out. They will oversee the rota for the box office with support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator.
The post holder should be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience in a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- The ability to build good relationships and earn trust and respect
- The ability to relate to people from all backgrounds
- Self-starter with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
