The Wicker Man, starring Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland, Ingrid Pitt and Christopher Lee is the quintessential Galloway film - though the tourist board may disagree ("A warm welcome awaits"). It has also generated one of the longest-running and bitterest disputes in Galloway history: who was the stunt double for Britt Ekland’s bum?

Join us on Midsummer’s night for an event discussing the film with two of its fans, Rev Richard Coles (ex of The Communards and now of BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live), who sees the film as study of comparitive religion (this may or may not be a joke), and book-loving comedian Robin Ince. 

The event was followed by a tweet-along screening of the film.
