Tell us about your connection to Wigtown and the Book Festival

I am Office Manager for Wigtown Festival Company, looking after the office on a day-to-day and the company accounts.  I also co-ordinate The Kist events (food, drink, art and craft) and am the Festival Bookshop administrator.

Sum up your festival experience in 5 words

Busy, fun, friendly, team, welcoming

What’s your favourite festival memory?

Not long after I had started work at the Festival Company, Matt Baker and the team from Countryfile came to Wigtown as the Booktown was included in an episode and we got chance to meet him - he was lovely!

Who would be your dream author to appear at the Festival?

My dream author to appear at the Festival would be Roald Dahl - it is such a shame that this will never happen.  We just love his stories at home and I had read most of them to my 3 daughters over the years with Charlotte being a huge fan.

Give us one recommendation or top tip for Wigtown, the Festival or D&G.

My top tip would be if you haven't already visited Wigtown Book Festival, what's holding you back? Set in such a friendly town with a beautiful back drop, you are assured of a warm welcome.  If you are a book lover, Wigtown is the place to be during the festival.
