Family day pass: how it works

  • Family Day Passes are available for the busiest days of the Children’s Festival (Sat 22, Sun 23, Sat 29 September) at £20 per day.
  • A day pass permits entry for up to five family members, including a maximum of two adults. To guarantee availability for specific events, day-ticket holders must also reserve seats.
  • Some special events are pay-as-you-go (e.g. pottery), rather than being part of the day ticket offer.
  • Please note: all Children's events on Sun 30 September are free, but many are ticketed and require booking.

Family Day Pass: how to buy

  • Follow the link to choose your Family Day Pass(es), in our booking area, and add to basket (see screenshot for reference).
  • To book specific events, go to 'What's On' and view Children / Big Wig events.
  • Choose events and add tickets to your basket. The discount will be reflected in your basket at checkout. If you wish to add further tickets to the pass after the initial transaction, please contact the box office on 01988 403 222.
  • Tip: when you're adding multiple items to your basket, use your browser 'back' button to return from the shopping cart to the main Book Festival website.
  • Please note: tickets are held in your basket for 30mins while you browse and book. The timer starts when you add your first item to the basket.
