The Wigtown Festival Company (WFC) is seeking to recruit an Administration Assistant to support the Cultural Tourism Development Officer (CTDO) whose role is to focus on the 50 weeks of the year outside the annual Wigtown Book Festival.
The role of the Administration Assistant will be to act as a first point of contact for local businesses and organisations, and to administer and support pilot programmes and activities which help to enhance Wigtown’s tourism economy throughout the year.
By creating new reasons for lovers of literature, culture and learning to visit Wigtown all year round, we aim to create trade for local businesses, especially outside peak season. We also aim to consolidate Wigtown’s identity as Scotland’s National Book Town and to deliver a book town that is fit for the 21st-century and resistant to the pressures of the digital economy.
