National Theatre of Scotland’s Artistic Development team is on the road and coming to Wigtown!  As the department responsible for developing our productions, and supporting artists to develop their skills we’re looking to meet up with artists in Wigtown currently making, or interested in making, performance or theatre. We want to hear what work you’re doing and what support you need, as well as to share information on different artist development initiatives and opportunities we’ve got bubbling away, that you can connect with.

We’ll be offering the following programme of one-to-one surgeries and workshops at 11 North Main Street, Wigtown, Scotland, UK, DG8 9HN on Wednesday 28th June:
Introduction to Playwriting workshop – 6.30pm-8.30pm
For early-career playwrights or those who are interested in finding out about how to write for the stage.  Covering starting points, inspiration, what a play is and what a play needs.
One-to-one Artist Development surgeries. Slots available: 11am – 5pm
An introductory meeting with National Theatre Scotland Artist Development Producer Anna Hodgart - to hear more about how to engage with the Company and for advice and tips on the best way of progressing your performance practice and career. 
Surgeries will be one hour in length. 
One-to-one script surgeries. Slots available: 11am – 5pm
A chance to chat about your writing with NTS Literary Manager Rosie Kellagher and get some feedback on a script you’re currently writing. Open to writers at any level of experience who have a draft of play they’re working on which would benefit from feedback.  Plays to be sent by Monday of the week before (Mon 19th June).
Surgeries will be one hour in length.
