Booking online

You can have confidence that the online ticket-buying system is fully secure. Tickets will be posted to you unless you are booking less than 7 days before the event. If this is the case you will be advised to collect tickets from the box office, at the County Buildings, Wigtown. Tickets which are not collected within 30 minutes of the first event will be taken to the door for collection there. Please bring the booking confirmation email which will be sent to you automatically once you have submitted your payment details.

Payment

We accept Visa / Delta / Maestro / Mastercard. Cheques should be made payable to Wigtown Festival Company. Bookings are subject to a £1 booking fee unless tickets are purchased by cash or cheque in person (this is applied to each transaction, not each ticket booked). Tickets cannot be exchanged nor money refunded. Where ticket demand is high for sold out events, we may offer a refund.

Events and seating

Events are an hour long useless otherwise specified in the event listing. All our seating is unreserved (seats do not have numbers).

Latecomers

Please arrive in good time for your event. Latecomers will not be admitted. Refunds will not be given to latecomers.

Event cancellation

In the unlikely event that an event is cancelled, we will contact you on the phone number provided when booking, at the earliest time possible. A full refund will be given for any cancelled event.

Information Wigtown Book Festival collects

We collect personal information from you through you creating an account with us by buying tickets to Book Festival events, subscription to our newsletter(s), competition entry and any other forms that you may complete, as well as any e-mails that you send us.

What we do with your personal information

We use personal information that you give us to answer your enquiries and provide you with information you have requested. We also use this information to better understand website usage and audience attendance so we know what areas of our website and what activities and events customers prefer.

How is website data stored and used?

We may use your personal information to keep you informed about Wigtown Book Festival and Wigtown Spring Book Weekend activities and may contact you from time to time about these. If you have given us permission to do this, we may use your information to send you e-mail bulletins and other email alerts. We will also use your information to process any transactions you make with us and for internal administration and analysis. We will not share any information we store about you with any third party unless legally required to do so.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information held by us in our records. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your information.

Use of photographs

Each year we use a photographer to take photgraphs at the festival. Some of the images are used on this website and in print to promote the event. At the time, we take every measure to ensure the subjects of the photographs (or a parent/carer) grant permission for the image/s to be used by us. Should you believe that an image should not be used for any valid reason please contact us and we will remove it.

Consent

By disclosing your personal information to us by using this website or over the telephone, you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by Wigtown Festival Company in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.
